Dear Sir:

Your letter of March 22nd just at hand. Mr. Downing
informs me that he wrote you yesterday concerning the representa-
tives from Palo Alto I will only repeat what he has written you.

At a meeting of the citizens of Palo Alto held Tuesday evening
it was suggested that a committee be appointed from the various
organizations to attend the funeral of Mrs. Stanford. I was se-
lected to represent the citizens; Mr. Downing, the Board of Trade;
Mr. Ferguson, the Board of Trustees, and Mr. Carey, the Merchants'
Association, making four in all.

I trust this information is all you may desire in regard to the matter.
