we have known her longer
and probably more intimately
than any others. It seemed
too horrible that anyone could
have been so brutal as to
cut short the life of so good
and so noble a woman.
The thought saddened and
horrified us. But now
that it seems as if death
came naturally, we can
feel reconciled.
A few of the Pioneers who
are in Sacramento shall
offer their tribute to the
memory of one to whom
they owe so much.
