SUBJECT - Mrs. Stanford's Funeral

SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY
PACIFIC SYSTEM
OFFICE OF JAMES AGLER, MANAGER
SAN FRANCISCO, CAL.
Mar. 22, 1905

Mr. C. A. Duniway
Chairman of Committee Leland Stanford Junior University
Stanford University, Cal.
Dear Sir:

Replying to yours of Mar. 21st in relation to arrangements for Mrs.
Stanford's funeral, it being suggested by Mr. Chas. G. Lathrop that it would
be suitable to have delegates present from the organizations of engineers,
conductors, etc. of the Southern Pacific Company.

You ask for names and addresses of the proper officers of the
organizations in order that you may communicate with them. I am afraid
you would not have time, as, for instance, the Chairman of the Order of
Railway Conductors is in Tucson, Arizona, and I would suggest that you
communicate with Mr. W. S. Palmer, Superintendent S. P. Co., Oakland Pier,
asking him to send 2 members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers,
2 members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen, 2 members of the
Order of Railway Conductors and 2 members of the Brotherhood of Railway
Trainmen, and Mr. Jas. C. Wilder, Superintendent S. P. Co., Third & Townsend
Streets, San Francisco, asking him for the same number. These gentlemen
can take matter up with their employees and ascertain who they would like
to represent them at Mrs. Stanford's funeral. This would make 16 members,
the number you request. In making selections, no doubt, Superintendents
will take our oldest employees.

Yours truly,
{ ? } , Manager
