LAW OFFICE
JOHN F. ENGLISH
ROOM 422, CROSSLEY BUILDING
SAN FRANCISCO, March 20, 1905
Professor C. A. Duniway,
Stanford University, Calif.
Dear Professor Duniway,
Upon the suggestion of Mr. Lathrop, made to Mr. Beedy,
of our San Francisco Stanford Club, the following have been
appointed honorary pall bearers to represent our club at the fun-
eral of Mrs. Stanford.
L. S. Beedy, 222 Sansome St., P. M. Downing, 624 Rialto Bldg.,
C. M. Fickert, U. S. Attorney's Office, Appraisers' Bldg., C. K.
Field, Mills Bldg., Dr. J. B. Frankenheimer, 406 Sutter St., and
O. A. Wilson, Crossley Bldg., all of San Francisco.
There are six, as you see, Mr. Lathrop having suggested that
number. I understand that you will notify them of their duties. If
you prefer, I will give them such notice as you desire.
The different clubs of Stanford Alumni throughout the United
States are to have floral offerings at the funeral, and most of these
organizations are sending their money in to the S. F. Club, and ask-
ing us to purchase their flowers. In addition to this they are
naming personal representatives, to represent them at the funeral,
and, I offer the suggestion, that if your arrangements will permit
of it being done, it might be a good idea to have these several
representatives act as honorary pall bearers at the funeral, thus
giving the several clubs representation at the services. I offer this
merely as a suggestion, and add the names and addresses of those
that I have.
Stanford Club of Fresno, G. H. Beebe, The Palo Alto, Palo Alto
Associated Students of Southern Cal., Rea Maynard, 206 Kearny St., care Wm. Harrelson, and B. P. Oakford, Parrott Bldg., S. F.
Stanford Club of Portland, Dr. E. C. Sewell, 708 Market St., S. F.
Stanford Club of Cambridge, Mass., John K. Bonnell, Stanford University
Stanford Alumni Association of Washington, D. C., Harry Johnson, Stanford University
Stanford Club of San Diego, George Hodge, Stanford, or Dr. Henry Woodward, San Diego, if he comes up to the services
Humboldt Stanford Club, J. F. Barnett, 222 Sansome St., S. F.
The following clubs have not been heard from by us, but we
expect to hear from them; Spokane, Wash., Denver, Colo., Chicago, Ill., and New York, N. Y.
I presume that if you care to act on this suggestion, that
you will notify these parties. If you desire that I do so, I shall
be pleased to notify them, instead.
Very sincerely yours
J. F. English
Pres. Stanford Club of S. F.
P. S. I shall notify you as we hear from other clubs. J.F.E.
