SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY
431 CALIFORNIA STREET,
SAN FRANCISCO.
March 21, 1905.
Dr. J. C. Branner,
Acting President, Stanford University,
Palo Alto, Cal.
Dear Sir:
Your very kind favor requesting Mr. T. H. Goodman to act as
one of the pallbearers at the funeral of the late Mrs. Stanford was
telegraphed to Mr. Goodman at the Hotel Glenwood, Riverside, where
he is recuperating, and he wires back to kindly express his apprecia-
tion for his selection as one of the pallbearers but sincerely regrets
that it will be impossible for him to be present.
Mr. Goodman has been considerably under the weather for the
past four months and under the advice of his physician has gone to
Southern California where he is trying to regain his former health,
and with very good prospects.
I beg to remain,
Yours truly,
H. M. France
