Mr. Herman Kohn,
Secretary of the Order of Elks,
San Francisco, Cal.
Dear Sir:
I am informed by Mr. George E. Crothers that your organization
desires to be represented by a delegation in the funeral services of Mrs.
Stanford next Friday afternoon. I desire to say that suitable arrangements
will be made to provide such a delegation with seats, if only you will
inform me in advance of their names and official positions.
While it might be possible to provide as many as ten seats, the number
Mr. Crothers mentioned in his telephone message, I hope that it will not be
impossible for you to have a representation of a somewhat less number, say
five or six. The pressure on the seating capacity of the Church is very great.
Will you please inform the delegates chosen that they should report
their presence here at room 55 in the inner Quadrangle, the building just
east of the Church, not later than one o'clock on the day of the funeral?
The services in the Church are to begin promptly at 1:30.
Very truly yours,
Chairman of Committee
