Dear Sir:-
I shall come down to Palo Alto on
Sunday morning - cannot get away the evening before. I believe the train
leaving S. F. at 9 A.M. reaches Palo Alto at 10.10 which I suppose is in
time, and there will be a conveyance going over to the Chapel.
It is an impressive occasion to me; it was my privilege
to speak at the second Sunday service ever held at the University, and
to have been the guest of the Senator and Mrs. Stanford then and at other times.
I shall hope to attend the funeral services, which I understand
are to be on Friday afternoon the 24th inst.
