telegraphed President James of the
Lincoln National Bank, to see her and
advise her not to go, dear little woman
she seemed so helpless and alone - I have
not heard from her since I saw her.
I have been only tolerably well this winter,
have not been out socially even once,
My Nellie is better, her two daughters
are spending the winter with their Aunt
in London. I enjoyed a nice long visit
from Mr Fred Grant and Miriam,
Ulysses eldest daughter this winter.
Hoping that this will find you well
when it reaches you, and that you will
soon be coming home again, and that
I may have the pleasure of greeting you
Yours with sincere & loving regard
Julia D. Grant
