We enjoyed quite a respite from the rain Saturday, but this morning, as I look across the green meadows I can see the storms on the mountain which are the advance guards of the storms in the valleys.

In an hour or so the deluge will be on us, and then there will be no further clear weather for another week.

For about a distance of a hundred feet, the road to the University is under

water, and in going to school we have to wade through this pond. Most of the boys get their feet wet in fording it, but, so far, my rubbers have kept out the water in fine shape.

Have you sent the picture and book to Ed. and the two books and picture to Mabel and Mae? I have not heard from Mabel yet in reply to my last letter. Is she sick? When you write to Aunt Abby
