We've been passing through a "transitory period" in our weather here, and it is not quite so tropical. The dense fogs creeping over the mountains at about six o'clock A.M. has the effect of cooling the rays of the sun; and in the afternoon the weather is much cooler.

There is great sorrow here at Stanford over our loss at the baseball game yesterday.

Our debaters however have promised us that

they will wipe the earth with our U.C. opponents in the debate next Saturday night.

Speaking of baseball reminds me of the fact that we have made good use of the ball I received with my shoes. Every night after supper the lame boy (King Hickey, as we boys call him) and I get out on the road and exercise the ball for an half hour or so.
