I'm afraid I shall have to ask for more money. My law books, which cost $5 apiece on an average, will be the principal item of expense for books. When I need the $ $ I shall write.
I answered Ed's letter Friday and will answer Elmo's when I have time.
I wish I could be in Frisco to day. It is a lovely day here, but rather tropical.

My dear mother:
Well, here I am again at my old desk, at my old but pleasant task, and surrounded by the old but ever new scenery of my freshman year. It seems a long time since I left home, the calander is the only thing to remind me that it is but five days.
