Well, to day begins another week of tribulation! Last week, being the first week of hard work, was very trying. There is a great deal of hard work before me but I think I can master it. Last night a reception was given by the old students to the entering class. There were a great many present. Yours truly was in evidence, as were all the rest of the Sophomore class. Wherever the Freshman is, there the Soph. will be. They are as inseparable as the spinal ligaments of the Siamese twins. One goes because he must be about his business.

the other (the Sophs) accompanies the former as a friend, guide and general information bureau. There are many joshes flying about concerning the simplicity of our younger brothers. When I go home I'll tell them.

Our debating society met last night, before the reception began and held a regular meeting. I was called upon unexpectedly to give an extemporaneous speech upon the "Aims of our Society."
