took a bike ride through the Arboretum this afternoon. It was a beautiful ride through the fairest portion of the Santa Clara Valley. The great elms, and pines, and oaks and cyprus trees filtered the ardor of the afternoon soon, and we enjoyed our little trip so much the more for it. The green grass that skirted the the road offered a pretty contrast to the wintry dress of the forest.
