After looking over, examining and admiring my presents it is with feelings of deep gratitude that I acknowledge my thanks. First the candy - the boys and Mrs Petree join me in declaring it to be out of sight or rapidly becoming so. My friends are wishing that I'd hurry up and be twenty-one in order to again share your generosity. Mrs Petree desires to express her admiration through me for your ability as a confectioner. She is delighted with the candy and has bravely declared that she will undergo all the pains of the indigestion which is sure to follow in order to eat the candy (samples) I gave her.

Father and Mrs Petree admired my muffler to such an extent that I'm almost afraid to put it on - it's too good to wear!
