I have not eaten breakfast yet and am beginning to feel hungry. Perhaps if I tell you what my breakfast is, it will appease my appetite. First course: cup of milk; second course: bowl of grape-nut-à la some milk; third course: cup of milk; fourth course: washing dishes. You can see from this elaborate bill of fare that I have reverted to primitive conditions and find my appetite gratified by milk. The milkman brings me a pint of milk each morning (75 c a mo.), and the grape-nuts last over a week, so that I manage to breakfast on about a dollar and a half a month. Pretty cheap, hey? My dinner and supper cost me almost 40 c a day. So you see I live quite cheaply.

I received a letter from Elmo yesterday which I enclose.
