Has Ed. sent allowance yet? I hope he has, for I shall be sorely in need of his help this year. I suppose that my expenses will amount to considerably over $20 a month, this year. When you can, send me down $20 for October, and during the middle of the month papa can give me another $5, as he did this month. Send money next Saturday, if possible.

A Republican Club was organized here last week and of course I joined. We have something like 125-150 members (I am not quite sure of exact figures). There is quite a rivalry between our club and the Maguire club here. Some imagine men visiting our club one evening, and our president asked them to speak on "the Republican victories," "the election of Gaye," the "success of the Stanford Republicans club," and var-
