Mr. Warde's talk was full of suggestion and wit, and was well applauded. He disagreed vigorously with those critics who claimed that Shakespeare could not be fully understood by the common mind. Fred. asserted that Shakespeare wrote for a people who were no more intelligent than the people of to day, and therefore could easily be understood.
