We went out into the parlors and until the wee sma' hours we sang and told stories and had a genuine Nestorian love-feast.

Did you see Paul and his friend, Miss Garratt, at the Vermonter's last Friday? Paul, I'll wager, was looking for me, for if I could have gone to San Francisco this week I should have done so. He expected me, I think.

I shall not be home next Friday either and probably not until a week from then. (the 26th. inst). I shall stay down for Commencement and at the same time I shall be engaged in writing a thesis which I shall not finish before the last part of the week.

Must leave you now and get ready
