get discouraged about it, I don't intend to let my professors see that I am not as confident as I might be.

I have changed my room in the Hall now to a better location. I get more sunshine now. My roommate is a pleasant, fellow from Iowa. He is Freshman and very unknowning. He is very much impressed with the dignity of his Senior roommate, who talks so wisely (?) to him upon his Elementary work in Economics. He is quite a singer and can whistle like a vaudeville "star." He gives me all sorts of ragtime through his puckered lips, and can whistle a hymn like a church choir's music.

All the students have settled down to work now - after Thanksgiving. There is little hilarity, and much hard digging. My friends are calling me a Freshman this year because I am spending most of my time over my books. It is the Freshman, you know, who always studies. The other students after their first year learn how to pass exes. without studying. Write soon.
