work on Washington's Birthday, but was so completely tired & worn out that I spent the morning on the lawn playing with our dog and enjoying the sun shine & the afternoon in witnessing a baseball game.

The dog I speak of is not Willie. Poor Willie is with us no more! It was Willie's wont to follow me to class each morning and then "shake" me as soon as my back was turned. A number of dogs belonging to other students held little levees each morning at which Willie was always represented. The dogs would play for an half hour or so running about the trees or colonades and then would begin to look for their respective masters. Now Willie never kept track of my whereabouts and seldom succeeded in finding me. When the classes began at the beginning of each hour Willie would run in some room
