My dear Nannie -

What a splendid [form?]
of Nov. 5th was! With such
examples certainly I [illegible] to
improve in my power to make
interesting the little things.

I remember my last to you
was a very hasty scribble writen
in the drawing class - but
it was put in with one for
Rose, so the whole wasn't bad
at least. What was the
sample that you enclosed -
the black rough goods - I
think you forgot to mention
it. It looks like such
stylish goods I am quite
anxious to know who is the
possessor of it and what
is it. I am so sorry
