humanity, they went on the 8 oclock
train, & afterwards Miriam, Helen, Alice
Colt & Felice Colin came in and feasted
on the rest of the chicken, cake, [illegible],
crackers, candy & nuts. After they went
I studied my verb & now it is mid night
and I must say good-night, but first
with unexpressible love to [illegible] to my
Nannie and a prayer that I may become
worthy of all the lessons the past twenty
years have taught me not the least of which
is the lesson of your noble generous life
I must not leave out that we have a most
cordial invitation from the [illegible] to spend
the holidays with them & also from Mrs.
Myrick for Gertrude, Theodora & I to
spend Xmas with him, both of which
we may accept. And now I am going
to sleep to dream of my god-faery [illegible]
of all things I haven't been, & all the things I'm
going to be, and of one the most surprisingy
happy birthdays imaginable
