is thinking of taking a course
here till the end of the year.
Next week is the last before
the spring vacation which begins
Mar. 21 & lasts a week. We
have made no plans but I
think I shall stay here &
work on my Milton thesis.
I have the last fourteen
years of his life to work on.
I enquired of the Beedy's about
Cousin John & they said he
was at a comfortable institution
at Westminster. We had such
a lovely letter from Mrs. Bliss
who has been traveling about
in the West Indes; Theodora
heard the poor Cousin Mary
Tuckerman, her family [illegible]
to be just the same as usual.
Bishop Nicholas confirmed a
class in Palo Alto to-day. I
didn't go down as I [illegible] it
would tire me and I couldn't
afford the afternoon For resting
the Centers services have
been twice a week in the
afternoon just at the time
I have gymnasium work,
which I couldn't arrange at
a different time. What a
pleasant time visiting you
have had, and now I suppose
that you are roaming about
Burpey Hollow & the Lake road
but you can't find a more
heavenly place than this,
with it blue hills & green fields
flecked with poppy gold.
