No news of people. Am going to
make soda biscuits to go with our
chicken dinner & this week I
shall have a chance to try the
receipts you were so sweet &
thoughtful to send. Am dreadfully
sorry this letter didn't get off
sooner but Gertrude answered
for you this week's [illegible] - How
glorious that she is actually in
the atlantic - Am glad Europe
has gotten into the family. It
will be our turn next. We look
for your letter to-morrow as the
very quiet fourth deprived us from
it yesterday.
