Edgewood

April 1st 1884

The first meeting of our Society for
1884 was held at Edgewood, April 1st
It was quite large, though four families
were not represented Avalon Norwood River-
side and Fulford. Our President made some
very appropriate and feeling remarks about
the loss our Society has sustained in the recent
death of one of its most most interested and
valuable members, Albin Gilpin, with which
all united.

The guests were Mrs. Darlington, Fred
and Pattie Stabler, Debbie Reese, Albina
Stabler, Bessie Scott, Lizzie Stabler and Katie
Janney. The noon temperature had not
been noted but it was 37° at 7 o'clock
in the morning, several degrees colder
than last year.

Specimens were from
Rockland, Lettuce Kale Radishes cabbage
plants, Tomato plant 7 inches high & Flowers
Olney Tomato plant 18 inches high
Sharon Lemon & Flowers
Longwood Tomato plants and Flowers
Edgewood new potatoes from the cellar
Falling Green Flowers
Rock Spring Flowers

Fine parsnips from Fred Stabler's
and Flowers from Kate Janney
