Longwood
May 26th 1885
This meeting represents the June
meeting, being a week earlier than
usual to avoid interference with
the June Exhibition at Rockville.
Our absent members were those
of Avalon and Cloverly and our
guests were Mary W. Kirk Sarah and
Charles Kirk Mary T. Kirk Margaret
S Hallowell Mrs. Nelson Miss Tru
-man, Mrs Ellicott and daughters
Miss Piggot Mary and Sarah
Janney.
The display on our specimen
table was very fine. From Rockland
lettuce, onions, cymlings, radishes,
pepper 11 in. egg-plant 16 in. and flo
-wers; from Sharon asparagus
marechal Neil roses and several
vases of flowers; from Edge
wood, corn, Lima beans, Snap
beans and Locusts; Olney stip-
ed violets and a pyramind of
flowers; from Rock Spring, as-
paragus, peas in pod, new
potato size of a hickory nut.
from White Hall, asparagus, peas
in bloom lettuce potato, onion,
corn 2 1/2 feet, beans and flowers
