Henry Miller brought some pepper
plants for distribution. Frances
Stabler brought Lima beans and
flowering beans for distribution

The vegetables were growing well
and roses coming into bloom. A long
bed of Heliotrope was planted and we
were told our hostess pegs them
down and they thrive and cover the
wide bed giving an abundance of
flowers until frost; the pansy beds
