Questions

1st Is it best to keep the garden clean
after the early vegetables come off or let
it grow up in weeds for the sake of shad-
-ing the ground? Much better to keep it
clean or a succession of vegetables can
be grown, as cucumbers for pickles, after
early potatoes, cabbage after early beans and
pease, and turnips after later peas.

2 Should a flower garden free from weeds
be kept worked? Yes, decidedly.

3 What should be done when a nurseryman
sends trees untrue to name?
Prosecute if you can; mistakes are often
made which require years to rectify.

4 How late will it do to set turkey eggs?
Not after 1st of August

5 A five-leaved ivy and microphylla rose
growing to-gether; which will outgrow the
other? The ivy.
