tifully; The vivid green of the
grass near the house was admired
and our hostess explained the secret
of its color by saying that the ashes
just as taken from the grate or
fireplace, was sprinkled on it du-
-ring the winter.

The next meeting is to be at
Rock Spring, on the 21st of Oct.

The meeting for October was
omitted owing to the death of
one of our oldest members and
one our greatest Horticulturalists, Mary
B. Hall.
