5 Is it too late to plant sweet corn
not too late till the 1st of August

6 What should be done with a crooked
aloe? put it by a tree so it can be shaded
on one side and get the sun on the other
as it will grow toward the light

7 How to prevent grapes from blighting?
Ditch one and a half feet around them
and put in plenty of manure

8 Will cucumber & canteleup mix in the
same garden? It is thought they will not

9 What will you do with plum trees
that bear abundantly one year & not for 2 or
3 years? no remedy known. Samuel Hopkins
said that in Virginia, they take the dirt away
and pack clay around the roots next the
tree. 10 What is the best way to cultivate raspberries
mulch and water frequently and pinch back
new shoots.

The usual walk came next in order
and the 1st object of interest was a flock of 27 beau
-tiful ducks in a very nice wire pen. Their
neighbor Mrs. Dr Hardy has raised 500 chickens this
summer. The vegetable & flower gardens which
are on an extensive scale, were in good Horticultural
order. After a very pleasant walk on the
beautiful lawn we were invited in to supper
after which the meeting adjourned to
meet at Rockland Aug 2nd
