grapes. S. Hopkins and John Bentley
continued. F. D. Stabler absent, so no
report on mixing of water melons and
cucumbers.

Paper bags, put on grapes when half
grown are wonderfully successful.
We were told of a person who bagged 17,000
bunches and saved the crop. A member
gave a plan by which the season
for sweet corn can be extended long
after frost by pulling up the stalks
and storing in a cellar. A member
who has tried the pine-apple or cocoanut
squash recommends it as
excellent for the table in summer
puddings in the fall and winter
and for preserving like citron when
fruit is scarce.

Some of our members and many
outsiders regret the ommission of the
Exhibition at the Lyceum and hoped
we would always have one in future.

The question of a November meeting
was discussed. It did not suit
the members whose turn came next
to have it in November, another had
carpenters at work, and so-forth, so it
was decided to have Chrysanthemums
show at the Lyceum on the 25th
of Oct. where the members and all the
neighborhood were invited to exhibit.
