So it is with our lives. We move along
In quiet happiness through years of peace;
Unnumbered blessings brighten all our paths,
And hidden deep within our heart's recess
Are joys we may not tell. When Lo! The sun
Goes down in darkness on our souls. All hope
Seems buried in the grave of loved and lost.

But, as a newer brighter wold comes forth
In Time from floods and heat and earthquake shock,
So are our lives more pure, unselfish, true,
When wild unrest gives place to Christian peace.
We move again upon our daily round
Of service, others taking up our work
When we, too, rest from earthly laboring.

A quarter of a century has flown
On silken wings since that bright day when first
We met. Our loved Society still lives!!
Long years of usefulness and joy have passed,
And ties of love and friendship bind us still
In cords inseparable save by death.
We pause to mourn deparated ones, and shed
Warm tears for those we see no more on earth,
Then proving love for those, with reverent hearts,
