At Falling Green the plan of planting

of our long row was tried and proved
successful; others gave the same report
of greater abundance of beans. Soak
beans 24 hous plant eye down.
The asparagus bettle has arrived and
so far attacks only the slender stalks
Airs slacked lime suggested, to drive it off
a plan for protecting melon vines from
a bug, a frame covered with mosquito
bar, to cover the plants, also metioned
coal ashes close around the stem. For
the currant worm wood ashes and helebore
considered best.

if it has to be done wait until June
and be sure to paint the end of the
stump left.
