Questions
1st a Jessamin is troubled with scale would it be
advisable to have it in a conservatory with other
plants? It is thought they would not spread

2 Should beds of bulbs be covered in winter? yes
with forest leaves.

3 How keep canna roots? In a warm, dry place

4 When take up caladium and and canna roots? After
frost and before the ground freezes

5 When pick winter apples? When they are ripe
Some members have (Octnd) picked all but the latest

6 When take up dahlias? After the frost has killed
the tops and before the ground freezes

7 How keep tomatoes in the fall? Some pull
up the vines and hang in a dry cellar or
out-house; others pick and spread on boards
in a dry cellar or room. The plan used
at Sharon is to keep in a warm , light room,
where they continue ripening for
weeks. A new way of keeping them was
mentioned. Put the ripe tomatoes in jars and
fill with brim; when wanted for breakfast drop
in fresh water overnight and omit salt in cooking
