We looked out upon a white
world this morning Several inches
od snow having fallen in the night, but
it did not prevent a good attendance
of our members. The absent were the member
from Alloway. Sharon, Harmon, & Woodburn
Our guests were Dr & Miss Hardy, Mr. Smith
and Kate Janney. The Secretary read a letter
from our President expressing regrets at
not being with us, but hopes, by prudent at
this time to be able to attend the subsequent
meetings. Roger Farquhar was pursuaded to
be our President for this meeting.

The minutes were read and those of
the corresponding month showed this season
to be much more backward

Suggestions for the good of the society
were called for and a member suggested
that for the first meeting a central place
should be chosen, as the roads and pickle
weather of April sometimes prevent a good
attendance.

For new business, the resignation
of the Sharon family was read, and
brought forth many expressions of regret
Some wanted to decline it and some
to hold it over for another meeting,
It was finally decided that they had
not resigned without deliberation
