said she had read of a treatment
by which lettuce was planted at the
beginning of a meal and was ready
to eat at the end of it.
2nd reader Henry Miller, had nothing
to read so told of the good of spraying
grape vines with Bordeaux mixture.
The spraying was done just before the
leaves expanded, then after the fruit
sets and two weeks later. The grapes
came to perfection and were abundant.
He thinks it would be a great help
to the Apple crop. Volunteer articles
Mary C. Gilpin of the cultivation of roses
by digging a hole two feet deep for
each bush, putting drainage and
about a foot of manure, then rich
