Report of the committee of forethought
Enjoy the fruits of previous months of toil and keep
down the weeds. Suggested: that we appoint an assistant
for our President to relieve him from the fatigue of
the questions. It was put to vote and Roger. B. Farquhar,
was unanimously elected Questioner for the rest of the
summer.

Roger Farquhar being absent, Henry Miller was
question for this meeting

Questions
(1)st Where there is a great growth of leaves on a grape - vine
is it advisable to thin it out?

(2)nd Apple - tree twenty years old looking badly. How treat it?
Manure it, mulch it and top dress with ashes. A. G. Thomas
who had the same trouble scraped the trunks and white -
washed them last year and has now a good crop.

(3)rd Fine melon vines which suddenly die are found grooved
or tunnelled by a worm. What remedy? Thought it
might be prevented, by using commercial fertilizer if
barn manure is used. put it deep in the hill.

(4)th How raise the cultivated dew-berry? Plant in
good soil, hoe out weeds and give a trellis.
