1 What is thought of the Japanese persimmon?
It does not pay to raise them

the velvet pod? Do not know of any

this section? Only two tries known here

4 Have grapes done well this year? At
most places they have done better than
usual. A few have not had a good crop

5 Would grapes do better if the fruit was
thinned? Some think so, and all believe
that the vines should be more closely
and frequently trimmed than is usual

6 Would they do better on an arbor? Yes

7 Is it too late to plant crimson clover?
It might be worth while to try it

8 When should kale be sowed? Now

9 Would planting sweet peas along a rose
bed injure the roses? It is thought they would

10 Can sweet peas be planted in the fall?
Yes, fine ones came from seed planted
Nov. 1^st, and also from plants which
began growing and were protected

11 Why is the sugar maple at Woodburn
so fine? Possibly because it grew slowly.
