The majority of the members arrived
at this meeting in high spirits the humor
of the occasion impressing every
one. The morning had been quite blizzard-like,
and the snow still lay on the
green grass and on the wheat which
had been waving in the mild breezes
of March. Peas, three inches high and potatoes
well above the ground were also
snowed under. The season has been phenomenal,
but Cornelia Bentley the appropriate
offering in a large bunch of holly

The Fore-thoughts committee opened
with a song to Spring, which sounded
sarcastic, but formed part of an excellent
article from which the tribute to
Charles A. Iddings is quoted here as
the expressed feeling of the meeting:
"We miss our beloved Secretary from
our midst and also a valued member
whose words were always wise. They
both loved this Society and each
member was a dear friend to them
