1 Who has the old-fashioned Damson
plum? A few still have trees alive.
It was suggested that they do better
planted in clumps.

2 Would nasturtiums do well in a window
garden which does not receive much sun?
It is thought they will not.

3 What plants would do well in which
is warmed by the kitchen below? Try
begonias prinulas, bulbs English ivy and
a few geraniums.

4 One of the members told of a peach
tree which he believes has borne peaches
for thirty years, and wishes to know
whether honey suckle around the roots
have anything to do with its longevity?
A number of members had knowledge of
trees in stone piles or surrounded by
stumps which did better than those
under ordinary conditions, so it was
thought there might be some virtue
in protection about the roots.

5 Is anything gained by white washing the
trunks of fruit trees? It is thought there
is advantage in it and it is suggested
