people in the neighborhood have
started herb gardens. The article, though
short dealt with their culture and then
branched off to some curious supersitions
and beliefs, as for instance, dill
placed over a door prevents the entrance
of any envious person. Then the question
came up what is dill? but no
one was familar with it. Mrs. R.
B. Farquhar interested us for some time
with an article on birds. It deplored the
fact that so many of our song birds
are killed and urged that every effort
should be made to arouse an interest
in their care and preservation by the children.
As a means towards this end, it
suggested that regular classes should
be held in order to make the children
more familar with bird life and habits
and spoke if som charts, called the
Audubon charts as great assistance The
article met with general approval and
elicited a number of interesting facts
gained by personal observation of
our members.
