The business of the day opened with the reading
of the minutes of the last meeting which were adopted
and the selected articles were then in order.

Eliza N. Moore at first rendered entertained
us most successfully with a short paper she had
written showing the contrasts in farming between
here and Norway, as noticed by her in her recent trip
to the North Cape the Norwegians work with
few and primitve implements. but acheive good results
by their industry and their economy is so great
that often what with us would be considered worthless
weeds make for them palatable and nutritius soups.
They have but little till able land but the forests are
extensive and are looked after in the most careful
and scientific manner so that there is always a fine
succession of young timber.

As a substitute for her mother Hannah B.
Stabler who had selected the article Mary M. Stabler read now.

Death in flowers which showed us many of
our favorites in a new light and we were surprised
to find how often a latent poisen is hidden under
their beauty. All lobelias bring on a dizziness.
crocus juice will cause vomiting - Lady slippers
poison externally and so on through a long list.
The article was listened to attentively and many instances
were cited to prove the truth of its statements
