Brooke Grove noon 52° 54°
Oct 5th 1899 For 3 mornings 32°

This being the last meeting for the
year, our hostess kindly invited us for
the middle of the day, giving us lunch
at 1:30 before beginning to business of
the meeting, instead of supper after the
business was over. This plan was highly
approved for the first and last meetings,
April and October. Our hostess was
much pleased with the experiment without the
interruption of attending to the serving of a
meal. The minutes were read and approved.
The readers, A. G. Thomas declined
for this meeting but promises an account
of a trip he hopes to take this winter.
Margaret Magruder read an article on the
care of hams and shoulders. Put in paper
bags and stand in barrels, hock - ends
down. and fill with sifted wood-ashes

We were told that if a young
cherry tree was split and the pith taken
out and it tied up the fruit would
have no stones. Mahlon Kirk appointed to
try the experiment.
