Withstanding the offers of our
President to open the meeting punctually
at 4.15 it was half an hour later
when the business of the meeting was
begun. This delay caused us to have
to hurry through with the questions, and
we fear some omitted to ask question the
answers to which will be of less benefit
later in the summer

The minutes are read and with some
alteration approved.

Appointed readers, 1st Mr. Davis read the
Golden rod is thought by the State Veterinanian
to be the cause of the disease
resembling consumption which is killing
thousands of horses. Another reason against
it for a national flower.
2nd Spraying potatoes with Bordeaux
mixture at the Maine Ex. Station was
profitable. An expenditure of $2.50
gave a return of $40.00 per acre
3rd The pernicious scale is being
spread disasterously by want of care
