Would it be a good plan to graft old
apple trees with some fine new kind,
Not if the trees are more than four
years old

We were told of a plan to keep
watermelons until Christmas, by painting
with a mixture without lead in it.

Roger Farquhars peach trees, four
years old, have borne for several
years, and this year, abundantly.

Lima beans, this year proved an
accentric crop, some having quantities
to eat and sell and others
almost none.

It is said that those strawberries
that have deep seated seeds, form
their flower buds low down and
are safer from frost.

In our examination of the garden, a
fine strawberry bed and plenty of winter
vegetables were admired A new asparagus
bed is to be made. Rose busheslooked well and
were still blooming. The Societies' only box walk
was enjoyed as usual.

Next meeting to be at Riverside in
April. Readers Francis Stabler and
Anna Farquhar.
