holes in it six or eight inches apart
fill with manure and keep it
full of water. Make a bed around
it, is also a succesful way with
some people.

6 Has any one tried watermelons in
a barrel, as strawberries are sometimes
raised? No one has.

Some of our members saw at
College Park Ex. station tomatoes trained
up Tarred rope.

The 17 yr locusts came in for a share of
our notice. It is interesting to watch
their rapid development, Birds
poultry dogs and cats feast on them

The garden and lawn had fine
roses and peonies and vegetable was
a fine sight with its variety of flourishing
plants. Adjourned to meet
at Woodburn in July.
