1st Is it too late to set out celery? The Fore
Thought and Dr. Magruder advocate late
planting. Mrs. Bond of Magnolia has set
plants out as late as Sept 15th and by cultivating
every week, had fine results.

The President reported a curious change
from varieties of squash sowed to near
each other. They were the patty-pan
and the crook-neck, and the result was
the shape of the latter, color white.

3 Is this the time to sow Spinach for
Fall? Yes

4 Wil poppies grow in the shade?
Yes, but will bloom far better in the sun.

5 Why have rose bushes that have grown
luxuriantly had so little bloom? Because
of the cold season. Better
trim in the fall.

6 Will it do to set out currants in the
Fall? Dr. Kirk prefers that season.
