A second article told of a tree recently discovered in California near the Mexican line. The foliage is covered on the under side with long hairs, which cause pain and swelling if they prick the flest. The blossom, of a rusty red hue is very like a tarantula in form and emits a heavey odor as stupifying in its effedt as chloroform. Every part of the tree seems to be poisonous.

The second reader, Mariana Miller, brough an article entitled "The farmers fruit garden" whcih was most clear and explicit in its wording and fully answered three questions What? When? and How much? So often asked about fruit planting. In another selection a slight departure was made from the topics of the season and some very valuable information given about chickens.
