For good reasons this meeting
was 10 days later than usual.
At the request of our hostess we
met an hour earlier than the usual
time that the members living at a
distance might escape being out in
"the shades of night" which fall so
fast at this season.

The minutes were read and accepted.

Readers 1st Mary Gilpin read an
account of the men sent out by the
Agricultural Department to foreign
countries to gather date palms and
other plants some of which are not
growing in Arizona. 2nd Sarah Kirk
absent Volunteer Dr Kirk gave an account
of experiments made on sick
trees by injecting various chemical
solutions under the bark with good
results.

The Secretary told of an invitation
to out Society to send a representative
to a Farmers Pic Nic to be held
in Baltimore County whereupon
