March Wednesday 31st 1880

Annie Rounds here & ironed for
Harriet, who is downstairs again
but quite weak as yet. Afternoon
I went to "Homewood" taking Willie
& Edward, also went to Wm J Scofield's
and brought home "Germantown wagon"
which I bought of him for $40.00
Edith Bentley called, also Ed.Lea
before dinner. Walked up to the
store after supper.

April Thursday 1st

Beautiful day. Took the Germantown
wagon to shop & had
hind axle straightened & bonnet
iron mended also, tire cut on
off hind wheel. Mended curtaind &c
Went to Henson Plummer's and
operated upon infant for "tongue tie"
Bro Richd brought cousin
Mary & Annie Chandlee to see
Harriet &c. Willue went to spend
the night with E Chalfont.
Charley took Frank Gilpin to
Walnut Hill after night.

April Friday 2nd 1880

Do not feel well did not rise
until 9 a.m. Drove to Asa Stabler's
before dinner. Afternoon took Harriet.
Willie & Edwd a ride, called
at Leawood Mills, Riverside and
Homewoods. Frank Snowden
came to spend the night with
Charley to make up the mail
in the morning tomorrow, as
Charley expects to leave home
with his grandmother & sister
for Oxford Pa. & to be gone ten
days.

30 Cloudy & Showery S.E.
Saturday 3rd

Left home at 7.35. a.m. for Laurel
taking D.A.Retzer Dora & Charley
in the Germantown wagon. arrived
there half an hour ahead of second
stage. Saw their train off at 10.30
bought some dressed lumber enquired
about shutters & castings etc.
Reached home again at 1.20
p.m. Rained at intervals all
the afternoon. Cleared off beautifully
after night.
